Die Deutsche Luftballonmeisterschaft

This show is inspired by an age-old children’s game: as soon as the balloon touches the ground, you’re out. Singer Sarah Engels, former alpine skier and gold-medal winner Maria Höfl-Riesch, TV host Lola Weippert, former soccer pro and "Let's Dance" winner Rúrik Gíslason, actor Tom Beck, jungle king Filip Pavlović, former soccer goalie Tim Wiese, reality star and TV host Elena Miras, olympic beach volleyball champion Kira Walkenhorst, long-distance runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt, former pro handballer Pascal Hens, and soccer player/coach David Odonkor are in for an all-new athletic challenge – hosted by popular “Ninja Warrior” hosts Laura Wontorra, Jan Köppen, and Frank Buschmann. 

The tournament begins with a preliminary round where the famous athletes must prevail in their respective groups to move on. After the knockout-style quarter and semifinals, the final contest determines who will be crowned “Die Deutsche Luftballonmeisterschaft2”. The famous contestants face off against each other in elaborately styled “worlds”. Each world has special features – and special pitfalls. Who will keep the balloon hovering the longest? Who will run out of air?
