Beautiful people have it easier: beautiful babies get more attention and good-looking adults achieve more success – in their professional as well as their private lives. But what about those who weren’t blessed with an attractive appearance? EXTREM SCHÖN! THE NEW LIFE YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED shows people who have always felt left out because of their appearance, have no sense of self worth and have therefore withdrawn from taking part in normal society.

Each episode in the series fulfils the wildest dreams of two despairing outsiders. A team of competent experts offers each a new and happier life. First class doctors, psychologists, fitness trainers and dieticians help the candidate reach their goal and accompany them on their highly emotional path to a new feeling of self worth. But the price is high: for eight long weeks they have to live apart from their families, weeks of deprivation, pain and struggle. But in the end the exuberant joy revealed by the change justifies the many weeks of distress they had to endure.
