Das Strafgericht
From 2003, RTL began its successful afternoon reality programme: Criminal Court. In charge of the court is Judge Ulrich Wetzel, holding session in his courtroom from Monday to Friday. All the jurists in the court are genuine, and all the cases are dealt with strictly according to German legal law.
The other roles are played by amateur actors, who give highly emotional and realistic performances. The accused and the witnesses are believable and authentic.
In over 1,000 episodes, the defence and the prosecution have cross-examined witnesses and the accused. Whether it’s murder, robbery, extortion or rape – the Criminal Court solves one gripping case every single episode.
